The data on Android devices is automatically encrypted by default. This feature doesn't require additional activation, and it cannot be deactivated.
EDS gives you a focus on supplementary encryption, particularly for sensitive data, which stays safeguarded even when the device is unlocked. This also helps protect data from potentially unsafe apps and conceals the presence of data on the device. Moreover, there is an external memory card encryption: you can utilize an external memory card on both the Android device and PC, ensuring that the data remains encrypted. In simpler terms, you can encrypt the entire memory card using EDS and then employ VeraCrypt / TrueCrypt / LUKS to access it on a PC.
To encrypt your Android phone for enhanced security:
- Download / install EDS app from Google Play. EDS is a free application for encryption.
- Select your storage category and make your storage configuration.
- Connect your Android phone to a charger, as encryption may take some time.
- Confirm and proceed with the encryption process.
Your Android phone is now totally encrypted for increased protection of your data!
