The File Opening Option Selection Screen¶
The popup screen displays the header "Open with", under which is a list of available tools for opening the file — depending on its MIME type.
List of Options is divided into two categories:
- Built-in Tools:
- Text Editor — available for text files (e.g.,
.txt,.log,.json); - Image Viewer — for images (e.g.,
.png,.jpg); - Audio Player — for audio files (e.g.,
.mp3,.wav); - Video Player — for video files (e.g.,
.mp4,.mkv); - PDF Viewer — for PDF documents (e.g.,
.pdf); - Form Viewer — for form files (e.g.,
.form); - Storage Manager — available for any files; allows opening a file as a container if possible.
When selecting a built-in tool, navigation to the corresponding screen occurs.
- External Applications — programs installed on the device that can process this file type, for example:
- office editors — for
.docx,.xlsx; - galleries — for
.jpg,.png; - specialized viewers — for
.epub,.psd, etc.
When selecting an external application, a system dialog opens with a list of suitable installed applications.
Buttons at the Bottom of the Screen¶
- Just Now — the selected option will be used once;
- Always — the selected tool will be used by default for this file type.
When reopening, the dialog will not be displayed. The behavior can be changed in settings, in the section Action on File Click.
