Adding an existing container¶
You can add an existing encrypted container to EDS NG in several ways:
From the Storage Manager¶
- Tap the "+" icon at the bottom-right corner.
- Select the "Encrypted" storage category.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Select "Add existing container".
- Select the appropriate container type.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the file icon in the path bar to choose the container location.
- Find and select the container file.
- Tap the checkmark (✓) icon at the bottom-right corner.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Adjust additional settings (for example, unlocking parameters) if needed.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
From the File Manager (long-press menu)¶
- Open the File Manager.
- Navigate to the container file.
- Long-press the file.
- Scroll the bottom menu to the right and tap the lock (🔒) icon.
- (Optional) If you want the container to stay in the containers list after the next app launch, tap "Edit guessed parameters":
- Select the appropriate container type.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Uncheck "Forget the storage on exit".
- Adjust other parameters as needed.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Enter the password and tap "OK" to unlock the container, or tap "Cancel" to return to the container list.
From the File Manager (tap the container file)¶
- Open the File Manager.
- Navigate to the container file.
- Tap the container file.
(Or long-press it and tap the "Open as" icon in the bottom menu.) - Choose "EDS Storage Manager" as the app for opening the container, then tap "Just once" or "Always".
- (Optional) If you want the container to stay in the containers list after the next app launch, tap "Edit guessed parameters":
- Select the appropriate container type.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Uncheck "Forget the storage on exit".
- Adjust other parameters as needed.
- Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
- Enter the password and tap "OK" to unlock the container, or tap "Cancel" to return to the container list.
