Adding an existing container

You can add an existing encrypted container to EDS NG in several ways:

From the Storage Manager

  1. Tap the "+" icon at the bottom-right corner.
  2. Select the "Encrypted" storage category.
  3. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  4. Select "Add existing container".
  5. Select the appropriate container type.
  6. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  7. Tap the file icon in the path bar to choose the container location.
  8. Find and select the container file.
  9. Tap the checkmark (✓) icon at the bottom-right corner.
  10. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  11. Adjust additional settings (for example, unlocking parameters) if needed.
  12. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.

From the File Manager (long-press menu)

  1. Open the File Manager.
  2. Navigate to the container file.
  3. Long-press the file.
  4. Scroll the bottom menu to the right and tap the lock (🔒) icon.
  5. (Optional) If you want the container to stay in the containers list after the next app launch, tap "Edit guessed parameters":
  6. Select the appropriate container type.
  7. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  8. Uncheck "Forget the storage on exit".
  9. Adjust other parameters as needed.
  10. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  11. Enter the password and tap "OK" to unlock the container, or tap "Cancel" to return to the container list.

From the File Manager (tap the container file)

  1. Open the File Manager.
  2. Navigate to the container file.
  3. Tap the container file.
    (Or long-press it and tap the "Open as" icon in the bottom menu.)
  4. Choose "EDS Storage Manager" as the app for opening the container, then tap "Just once" or "Always".
  5. (Optional) If you want the container to stay in the containers list after the next app launch, tap "Edit guessed parameters":
  6. Select the appropriate container type.
  7. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  8. Uncheck "Forget the storage on exit".
  9. Adjust other parameters as needed.
  10. Tap "OK" at the bottom-right corner.
  11. Enter the password and tap "OK" to unlock the container, or tap "Cancel" to return to the container list.
