Copying files from a PC to EDS NG container

There are several ways to import files from your PC into an encrypted container on your phone:

  1. Copy and paste via EDS NG file manager. Copy the files to your phone's memory (e.g., via USB cable), then use the EDS NG file manager to cut/paste the files into the opened encrypted container. You can see how it works in this video.

  2. Mount the container (requires root access). If you have root access on your phone, you can mount the container, connect the phone to the PC, and copy the files directly to the mount folder. The files will be written directly into the container.

  3. Use an encrypted cloud folder. Set up an encrypted folder on a cloud storage service (e.g., Google Drive) using EncFS (gocryptfs, cryfs, etc.), which works on various platforms. Add this folder to EDS NG, then copy your files to the encrypted folder on your PC — they will be automatically synced to your phone via the cloud storage.

  4. Use a Windows network share. Create a Windows share on your PC and add it to EDS NG. Then you can copy/paste files from the share to the encrypted container using the EDS NG file manager.

  5. Use the built-in FTP server. Enable the FTP server in EDS NG (Settings → FTP server), then allow exposing the container via FTP in the container settings (long-tap the container → SettingsExpose the storage through the local FTP server). Open the container in EDS NG, connect to the FTP server from your PC, and copy the files to the container.
