Creating a hidden container

  • To create a hidden container, you need to prepare the outer container first. Create a standard VeraCrypt container with enough space to hold the outer container with plausibly looking data and the hidden VeraCrypt container with the actual data.
  • Copy some plausibly looking sensitive files to the outer container and close the container.
  • After the outer container is prepared, you can create the hidden container. Open the Storage Manager screen, press the + button, select the Encrypted category and press OK.
  • Choose Create new container.
  • Select VeraCrypt, tap OK.
  • Tap the folder icon and select the outer container file that you've prepared previously. If you've encrypted a USB drive then open the left menu, choose the [Name of the USB device] (whole drive encryption) and select the encrypted partition.
  • The Create hidden container inside the selected container checkbox will appear. Enable it.
  • Enter the password (and keyfiles and PIM if needed) of the outer container and tap OK.
  • Enter the password (and keyfiles and PIM if needed) for the new hidden container and tap OK.
  • Adjust the parameters of the hidden container if needed and tap OK.

✅ Your hidden VeraCrypt container is now created. To access it, simply tap on the container from the Storage Manager screen and enter the hidden container's password. If you need to access the outer container, tap on the container and enter the outer container's password. If you want to change the contents of the outer container, you should enable the hidden volume protection option in the Advanced section of the password input dialog. Otherwise, the hidden volume may be damaged if the outer container is modified.
