The Storage Settings screen¶
This screen displays information about the storage and provides the following settings:
General parameters:¶
- Storage name — the displayed storage name.
- Storage identifier — unique system identifier.
- Show preview in file manager — display thumbnails of media files when viewing storage content in the file manager.
- Save media files preview — cache preview of media files and save it inside the storage.
Storage type-dependent parameters (may be absent):¶
- Storage path — path in URL format.
- Read-only mode — open storage in a mode that prohibits content modification.
Unlock parameters (for encrypted storages):¶
- Remember password — when pressed, opens the Password Input Dialog screen where you can enter and save a password for automatic unlocking.
- Enable pattern password — when pressed, opens the Password Input Dialog screen to set a password that will be used when opening storage after entering a graphic key. Then opens the Graphic Key Input Dialog screen to set the key itself.
- Enable fingerprint login — when pressed, opens the Password Input Dialog screen to set a password that will be used when opening storage after fingerprint confirmation. Then launches the fingerprint scanning screen.
At least one fingerprint must be registered in the system.
Additional unlock parameters for VeraCrypt and LUKS:¶
- Remember key files — when pressed, opens the Key Files Input Dialog screen, which will be used during unlocking.
Additional unlock parameters for VeraCrypt:¶
- Remember PIM — when pressed, opens the PIM Input Dialog screen (Personal Iterations Multiplier).
Not available in TrueCrypt mode.
Additional unlock parameters for network and cloud storages:¶
- Remember username — when pressed, opens the Username Input Dialog screen, which will be used during unlocking.
Additional unlock parameters for SFTP:¶
- Remember key files password — when pressed, opens the Key Files Password Input Dialog screen, which will be used during unlocking.
Additional parameters:¶
- Enable indexed search — index storage content for accelerated search.
- Visibility for external applications — if enabled, when opening storage its content becomes available to other applications (e.g., file managers, editors, media players) through the standard Android mechanism — Storage Access Framework (SAF).
- Auto-close timeout, in minutes — automatically close storage when idle. Overrides the global value.
- Provide storage access via local FTP server — when activated, storage becomes accessible via FTP at the address specified in global settings.
Additional parameters for VeraCrypt storages:¶
- TrueCrypt mode — enables compatibility with storages created in TrueCrypt format.
- Hash algorithms — allows selecting the hash algorithm used when decrypting the key from password when opening storage.
General parameters for network (SMB, FTP, SFTP) and cloud (S3, WebDav) storages:¶
- Host — network storage address.
- Storage folder path — relative path to the target folder inside the network storage.
- Port — port used for connecting to the network storage.
Additional parameters for FTP network storages:¶
- Protocol — connection protocol:
- FTP — standard File Transfer Protocol.
- FTPS — extended protocol with encryption support (File Transfer Protocol Secure).
- Connection mode — connection establishment mode:
- Active — server initiates data connection.
- Passive — client initiates data connection.
Passive mode is recommended for better compatibility with networks and firewalls.
- Encoding — list for selecting preferred filename encoding.
UTF-8 is used by default.
Additional parameters for S3 and WebDAV cloud storages:¶
- Protocol — data transfer protocol:
- HTTP — regular network data transfer protocol (HyperText Transfer Protocol).
- HTTPS — secure data transfer protocol (HTTP Secure), provides connection encryption.
Additional parameters for WebDAV cloud storages:¶
- Trust all certificates — when connecting to WebDAV service, all SSL certificates will be accepted, including self-signed ones.
Additional parameters for Google Drive, OneDrive, Yandex Disk, Dropbox, PCloud cloud storages:¶
- Remember username — when activated, transitions to the authorization screen of the corresponding cloud service.
If the parameter is enabled, saved account data will be used when opening storage.
Mounting settings (available with root access):¶
For more details about the storage mounting mechanism, see the Description of Storage Mounting section.
- Mount on open — storage will be automatically mounted when opened.
- Mounting directory path — absolute path where mounting will be performed.
If no path is specified, the default value is used (displayed in tooltip).
Path can be entered manually or selected through file manager by pressing the icon to the right of the text field.
Only paths inside local or root storage are allowed.
- Run custom command after mounting storage — if a command is entered, it will be executed in shell with superuser (root) privileges.
- Enable application data isolation when opening storage — when opening storage, applications whose data was previously saved in it are automatically isolated. For more details about the isolation mechanism, see the Description of Application Data Isolation section.
- Path to isolated data directory — relative path inside storage where isolated application data will be saved.
Path can be entered manually or selected through file manager by pressing the icon to the right of the text field.
Password settings (available for some encrypted storages):¶
-
Change password — transitions to the screen for entering current storage unlock parameters.
For LUKS storages, additionally available is entering the key slot number where current parameters are stored.
If slot is not specified, a suitable one will be automatically selected.
After successful input, the screen for setting new unlock parameters opens.
You can also specify the key slot number for writing new data; if not specified, the next free slot will be selected.
After confirmation, the password change operation starts.
For the list of supported parameters, see the Unlock parameters section. -
Add password — available only for LUKS storages.
Transitions to the screen for entering current unlock parameters (password, key files and key slot number).
If slot is not specified, a suitable one will be automatically selected.
After confirmation, the screen for entering new parameters opens: new password, key files and key slot number for writing them.
If slot is not specified, the next free slot will be selected.
After confirmation, the new password addition operation starts.
